Chris Jeely hails from Birmingham, Alabama USA and is best known for his work as Accelera Deck, Your Favorite Horse, Slinger, and September Plateau. He has released records on Enraptured (UK), Forward (NL), Morr Music (DE), Skylab Operations (AT), and a host of others.

  In each musical endeavor Chris displays a certain lackadaisical attitude, sidestepping preconceptions and abandoning convention (most of the time). Chris is particularly fond of combining different approaches from seemingly unrelated genres, continually asking questions, and offering answers which two weeks later will be contradicted. Rather than paint a picture to be shown in finished form, Chris prefers to paint as he goes, trying out new hues, slashing the canvas with razors, and then searching madly for the tape to repair his mess. This erratic way of creating shows Chris' view of life as seen through a hailstorm of elliptical textures & static, tortured acoustics and gently strummed electronics. When singing, his deep and resounding voice spins obtuse stories about devil boats, helium boned martyrs, Satan's cotton fingers, and the death of Blind Lemon Jefferson. Whilst his instrumental work ranges from quiet and contemplative atmospheres, spidery folk songs, to full on digital assaults of sound residing comfortably between Mego's binary opposition, My Bloody Valentine's blistering sensuality, and the rural sadness of prewar delta blues.

  Whether Chris is releasing guitar rave ups over IDM beats, whether he strips it down and plays simple folk songs, or lets go a fury of noise, perhaps all three in a single song... one thing remains untouched and unchanged, that is a commitment to explore, push and develop by whatever means necessary. In other words Chris - the hyper prolific chameleon - is liable to do anything next. And that is just the way it should be.
