Gloomy instrumentals, stark lyrics and a ruddy sound, all describe Duster extremely well. Duster's work bears echoes of the Velvet Underground as well as numerous lo-fi checkpoints. Awash in a wide range of influences, Duster doesn’t bear the obvious traces of pop that mainstream ears could identify with, a problem that keeps the band from finding a wider audience than record geeks. There’s more than a hint of pop hidden beneath Duster’s ruddy sound for anyone able to pick it out.
