Phasmid

Raising the roof of home recordists Phasmid (a.k.a. Kell Simon) utilizes strictly analog synths & drum machines (as well as his children's voices and their talking barbie dolls) to create some of the smoothest, most blissed out electro-pop his side of the Mississippi. "Her Friend the Blue Star," Kell's first full-length release, is replete with glistening analog sounds, sweet robot melodies, electro beats, gentle vocoded voices, and the occasional bit of beat crunchiness.

Kell Simon is a civil rights lawyer who studied guitar, cello, and classical composition growing up in New York and Washington, D.C., and philosophy and the history of science in college. He loves all of his old Kraftwerk records, the books of Lynda Barry, and he loves to eat sushi. He also has a dreadful fear of computers that has kept him in his analog lifestyle. But why would you want to bore yourself with all these silly details? Just listen to the music. We hope you enjoy it.
